Spartan Combat & X-Athletic combine forces

BOSTON, Mass. (February 12, 2020) – Spartan Combat™, the combat sports brand of endurance and wellness leader Spartan Race, Inc. (“Spartan”) , has announced it will combine forces with high-quality combat sports brand X-Athletic, forming “Spartan Combat Apparel.” The new brand increases Spartan’s presence in the combat sports industry, providing custom team apparel for youth and adult wrestling teams and clubs.

“Spartan Combat began as a means to expand Spartan beyond the world of endurance sports and into all things ‘tough fitness’,” said Spartan Founder and CEO Joe De Sena. Joining forces with X-Athletic, which has an established and respected presence in the wrestling community, creates a strategic partnership that will allow Spartan Combat to reach wrestlers of all ages and abilities across the nation.”

For five years, X-Athletic Apparel has provided high quality custom apparel and accessories for training and competition for high school, junior high and club wrestling teams across the country. The brand was also the official apparel company of two-time World champion and four-time NCAA champion Kyle Dake.

With the strategic partnership, Spartan Combat Apparel will continue to service the brand’s core customers – and expand its reach through Spartan Combat events and partnerships. The newly established brand will also offer a premium line of X-Athletic sub-branded products.

Spartan Combat recently announced the Spartan Nationals Wrestling Tournament scheduled for May 21 in Jacksonville, Fla. and the forthcoming Spartan Regional Training Center (RTC) in Ithaca, N.Y.
