Three seeded wrestlers, including a past All-American, lost their first match of the 2017 Nationals:

Iowa State’s Earl Hall, seeded No. 13, lost 8-1 to Princeton’s Pat D’Arcy;
Oregon State’s unseeded Joey Palmer knocked off No. 15 Jamal Morris of NC State, 5-2;
Drexel’s No. 16 Kevin Devoy lost 11-3 to North Dakota State’s Cam Sykora, 11-3.
