#1 Anthony Robles (Arizona State) dec. Jarrod Patterson (Oklahoma), 9-3
Robles’ third and final takedown came with one second remaining and added a 1:49 riding time advantage. Much of that riding advantage came in the first period when the Sun Devil scored a takedown with 1:17 gone in the bout.

Unseeded Ben Kjar (Utah Valley) dec. Zach Sanders (Minnesota), 5-3
Kjar became his school’s first All-American when he broke open a scoreless match in the second period with an escape and two takedowns, the second coming with one second left in period. Sanders’ final points in the third period came on an escape and stalling call against the Wolverine.

#3 Brandon Precin (Northwestern) dec. #6 Nic Bedelyon, 9-5
The Wildcat twice put the Golden Flash on his back — once in both the first and second periods — and added a 1:48 riding time advantage to guarantee his third All-American honor. Bedelyon scored his only takedown in the closing seconds to cut the margin to 8-5.

#2 Matt McDonough (Iowa) major dec. #7 Ryan Mango (Stanford), 11-0
The Hawkeye scored the first of two takedowns with 1:41 left in the first period and he ended the frame by putting Mango on his back for a three-point nearfall for the final 26 seconds of the first period. McDonough then added a second-period reversal and third period takedown before gaining a final point with a 3:44 riding time advantage.

#1 Jordan Oliver (Oklahoma State) major dec. #8 Mike Grey (Cornell), 10-2
Oliver’s fourth takedown came on a duck-under with two seconds left in the match then gained another team point for the Cowboys with a 2:22 riding time advantage.

#4 Tyler Graff (Wisconsin) dec. #5 Lou Ruggirello (Hofstra), 2-1
A second-period takedown by the Badger proved to be the winning margin as Ruggirello chose to ride Graff the entire third period in hope of back points instead of releasing him. Those two minutes game the Pride senior a riding point but Graff moved to the semifinals.

#3 Andrew Long (Penn State) dec. #11 Scotti Sentes (Central Michigan), 2:46
Trailing 2-0 and being rode for over two minutes by the Chippewa, Long took advantage of Sentes’ high ride to score a reversal that also put Sentes on his back before the Lion earned the fall with 14 seconds left in the first period.

#2 Andrew Hochstrasser (Boise State) dec. #7 B.J. Futrell (Illinois), 10-2
The Bronco senior actually spotted the Illini a two-point lead when Futrell scored a takedown 30 seconds in the match. But Hochstrasser ended the first period with a reveral and added another reversal to open the second frame. In the third period, Hochstrasser’s strong ride helped him put Futrell on his back twice before adding another point with his 3:57 riding time advantage.

#1 Kellen Russell (Michigan) dec. #8 Zach Bailey (Oklahoma), 3-3 (rt) tb

A three-second difference in riding time after two overtime periods was also the difference in the outcome. In regulation, the only points came on escapes by both men in the second and third periods; then each wrestler added one point each in both sets of tiebreakers.

#5 Montell Marion (Iowa) dec. #4 James Kennedy (Illinois), 8-7
The Hawkeye ended a miraculous comeback when Marion scored a takedown on the edge of the mat with just three seconds remaining. After two period, the Illini senior appeared to be the dominant wrestler when he not only scored a takedown and rode out Marion for over two minutes in the first then benefitted from another point when Marion was penalized for a quick start in the second period. Marion finally scored a takedown with 1:25 left in the second period but trailed 5-2 before the start of the third period. In the final frame, Marion chose neutral but benefitted from a stalling point against Kennedy before surrendering another takedown by Marion that tied the bout at 5-5. In the final 34 seconds, the Illini scored an escape but gave up another stalling point with six seconds left that tied the match 6-6. Kennedy appeared ready to prevail with a 1:46 riding time advantage before Marion tallied his final two points.

#3 Boris Novachkov (Cal Poly) dec. #6 Andrew Alton (Penn State), 2-0
The Mustang scored an escape in the third period but it was his crab ride against the Nittany Lion freshman for the entire second period that gave Novachkov a final 1:49 riding time advantage.

#2 Mike Thorn (Minnesota) pinned #10 Todd Schavrien (Missouri), 2:03
The Gopher ended a wild first period that saw him take a 2-0 lead on a takedown with 1:40 left before the Tiger scored three points on an escape and takedown with 1:11 left. But 20 seconds later, Thorn scored a reversal that became a headlock that flattened Schavrien with 57 seconds left in the first.

#8 Ganbayar Sanjaa (American) dec. unseeded Eric Grajales (Michigan), 10-3

The Eagle earned his first All-American honor by scoring a total of eight takedowns, including two in the first period. He added one takedown in both the second and third frames before ending the scoring with a 2:28 riding time advantage.

#4 Kyle Dake (Cornell) dec. #5 Jamal Parks (Oklahoma State), 3-0
The 2010 champion at 141 pounds scored the match’s only takedown with 46 second left in the first period before adding an escape point in the second. Trailing 3-0, Parks chose neutral but could not penetrate Dake’s defense.

#6 Jason Chamberlain (Boise State) dec. #3 Kevin LeValley (Bucknell), 4-3 tb
The Bronco earned the victory on a controversial takedown along the edge of the mat with eight seconds remaining in tiebreaker phase. LeValley appeared ready to win 3-2 when he first rode out Chamberlain for his 30-second tiebreaker advantage, then scored an escape ten seconds into the next 30-second tiebreaker. Chamberlain also scored a takedown with 50 seconds left in the first period, but gave up escapes to LeValley in the first and third period to force overtime.

#2 Frank Molinaro (Penn State) dec. #7 Mario Mason, 4-2
The Nittany Lion junior used a first-period takedown and two escapes to reach the semifinals. Mason, who was forced to call an injury timeout after a strong ride by Molinaro in the first period, fought back to trail 3-2 on a takedown with 1:07 left but could not score any more after releasing the Lion two seconds left.

#8 Jason Welch (Northwestern) dec. #1 Adam Hall (Boise State), 3-1
The Wildcat scored the match’s only takedown with three ticks left on the clock along the edge of the mat, which left the Boise State coaches angry in frustration. Otherwise both men scored escapes in the second and third periods.

#4 Bubba Jenkins (Arizona State) dec. #12 Paul Young (Indiana), 4-3
After a scoreless first period, the Sun Devil jumped on top 2-1 with a second-period takedown and built his lead to 4-2 on a third-period reversal. Young’s final point came on his third escape with 1:15 left but there was no more scoring after Jenkins was warned for stalling.

#3 David Taylor (Penn State) dec. #6 Derek St. John (Iowa), 6-3
The Nittany Lion freshman showed great balance, especially in the second period when he scored a second takedown with 1:10 left after a wild scramble with the Hawkeye, whose only points came off escapes. Taylor added an escape in the third period and earned another point for riding time. He also was warned for stalling with 14 seconds left.

#2 Steve Fittery (American) pinned #7 Bryce Saddoris (Navy), 4:11
The Eagle was leading 4-1 with two first-period takedown and generated more than two minutes of riding time before he finally caught the Midshipman on his back and pinned him with 49 seconds left in the second period.

#1 Jordan Burroughs (Nebraska) won by technical fall over #8 Scott Winston (Rutgers), 23-8 (5:22)
The top-ranked Cornhusker methodically dominated the Scarlett Knight with a total of ten takedowns: five in the first period, four in the second and one in third frame; the final one ending the bout. Burroughs also scored a reversal to open the final period and enjoyed a 1:46 riding time advantage.

#5 Colt Sponseller (Ohio State) dec. #4 Josh Asper (Maryland), 3-1
After a scoreless first period, the Buckeye score the match’s only takedown with 1:10 left in the bout.

#3 Tyler Caldwell (Oklahoma) dec. unseeded P.J. Gillespie (Hofstra), 2-1
The Sooner built up a 1:21 riding time advantage, which broke a final 1-1 deadlock, by controlling the Pride wrestler much of the final period.

#2 Andrew Howe (Wisconsin) dec. #7 Shane Onufer (Wyoming), 4-1
The Badger junior needed just a first-period takedown and a 1:19 riding time advantage to advance to his third straight semifinal.

#1 Jon Reader (Iowa State) dec. #8 Mike Letts (Maryland), 8-2
The Cyclone enjoyed bookend takedowns in the first and third periods while adding a second-period reversal and a 4:10 riding time advantage.

#5 Chris Henrich (Virginia) dec. #4 Colby Covington (Oregon State), 7-5

The Cavalier scored two first-period takedowns to lead 4-1 before Covington battled back with a second-period takedown and third period escape to pull within 6-5 … and nearly scored a critical takedown in the closing seconds before Henrich escaped with a riding time advantage.

#3 Mack Lewnes (Cornell) dec. #6 Ben Bennett (Central Michigan), 7-3
The Big Red senior scored a takedown in each period and added a 2:16 riding time advantage over the Chippewa, who had just three escapes.

#7 Nick Amuchastegui (Stanford) won by injury default over #2 Ed Ruth (Penn State)
An effective leg turk by the Cardinal not only put the Nittany Lion freshman for six nearfall points — on three turns — and helped him lead 9-2 before the Ruth was unable to continue the match with 17 seconds left in the first period.

#9 Quentin Wright (Penn State) dec. #1 Chris Honeycutt (Edinboro), 7-3
The Nittany Lion continued his surprising unbeaten run in the postseason when he first used a headlock to takedown the top-ranked Scot with 1:07 left in the first, then iced the match with a pair of takedowns in the third period. The final one came shortly after he was warned for stalling with 15 seconds left in the match.

#12 Grant Gambrall (Iowa) dec. #4 Travis Rutt (Wisconsin), 4-2 tb
The Hawkeye ended the match when he scored a reversal over the Badger with 14 second left in the tiebreaking phase of overtime. Before that, each wrestler gained a pair of escapes and Gambrall rode out Rutt for his 30-second tiebreaker advantage.

#3 Steve Bosak (Cornell) won by technical fall over unseeded Diego Bencomo (Duke), 16-0 (6:28)
The Big Red wrestler scored 12 of his points off four nearfall moves, including five off two tilts in the first period to lead 7-0. The final points came after Bosak scored a second takedown with 1:09 left in the match and twice put the Blue Devil on his back.

#2 Robert Hamlin (Lehigh) dec. #7 Chris Perry (Oklahoma State), 4-2
Hamlin scored the match’s only takedown with 1:25 left in the first period and Perry, whose third-period escape cut the lead to 3-2, saw his rally end when the Cowboy was penalized for a head-butt with 13 seconds left.

#1 Cam Simaz (Cornell) pinned #8 Matt Powless (Indiana), 2:20
The Big Red junior was nearly takedown down on the opening whistle but fought back to defend the Hoosier’s move and eventually scored on a double, which also put Powless on his back to lead 4-0, and ended the bout when Simaz caught his foe in an effective cradle with 40 seconds left in the opening period.

#4 Dustin Kilgore (Kent State) dec. #5 Luke Lofthouse (Iowa), 10-3
Kilgore scored four takedowns against the Hawkeye, including two in the second period that gave him a 6-3 lead with 31 seconds left in the second frame. The Golden Flash’s final takedown iced the bout with 23 seconds left in the match.

#3 Trevor Brandvold (Wisconsin) dec. #6 Micah Burak (Penn), 1-0
After a scoreless first period, the Badger scored the only point off a second period escape, then prevented the Quaker from scoring after Burak chose neutral in the third period.

#2 Clayton Foster (Oklahoma State) dec. #7 Zac Thomusseit (Pitt), 8-2
The Cowboy scored a takedown in each period and benefitted from a riding time advantage over the Panther, who managed just two escapes.

Heavyweight

#1 Zach Rey (Lehigh) won by injury default over #9 Cam Wade (Penn State)
The match ended 17 seconds into the second period after the Penn State coaches felt Wade could not continue after he sustained a knee injury near the end of the second period off a low ride by Rey, who was leading 5-0 when action was stopped.

#5 Dom Bradley (Missouri) dec. unseeded Levi Cooper (Arizona State), 5-3

Bradley’s second takedown came with just eight seconds remaining in the second period, which gave him a 5-2 lead before allowing just an escape to the Sun Devil.

#3 Ryan Flores (American) dec. #11 Tucker Lane (Nebraska), 5-2
Two takedowns — one in the first and second periods —was all Flores needed to earn American University’s record-setting third semifinalist.

#2 Jarod Trice (Central Michigan) dec. #10 Nate Fernandez (Oklahoma), 3-2
The Chippewa scored the bout’s only takedown with 2:22 left in the first period, then exchanged escapes with the Sooner heavyweight.
