Seven wrestlers with past American college honors appeared in FILA’s World Men’s Freestyle Rankings, which were released on May 2.

Topping that list is Jordan Burroughs, the two-time NCAA champion from Nebraska, who added a second World championship last fall to go along with a 2012 Olympic gold medal.

Also appearing in the World rankings were:

• former Illinois All-American Jimmy Kennedy (14th at 134.5 pounds)

• former Missouri AA Nick Marable (10th at 163 pounds) who made an international name for himself this past winter when he defeated Burroughs but recently won the U.S. Open title at 154 pounds;

• former Oklahoma State All-American Clayton Foster (16th at 189 pounds);

• former NCAA Division II champion Tervel Dlagnev from Nebraska Kearney and World bronze medalist (15th at 275 pounds)

Meanwhile, two other former U.S. collegiate wrestlers are also ranked among the top four at 143.3 pounds. Franklin Gomez (Michigan State) was rated No. 2 while Boris Novachkov (Cal Poly) is ranked No. 4.
